The Association For Independent
Managers, Inc.™
"the big association for the little guy"

Start Your Own Business

You want to join, but you don't have a small or home-based business?

Well, start one! The first thing you need to do is sign up for the Tax Savings Program. (You can sign up at lowlowprices.us) If you are working in a full time job, but would like to start your own business, let your tax savings from your current job pay for your start-up costs. Many businesses go out of business because they get in trouble with the IRS. Do it right from the start, and stay out of trouble!

The next thing to do is to find a product or service that is: of value to others, of interest and liking to you, and is profitable. If you accomplish all three things, you are likely to succeed and not get tired of your new job. We have some oportunities that can allow you to start earning an income immediately, and we add to this list regularly.

Next, name your business. Whether you have a building, or just a website, a name is everything. The name should let people know what you do. A lot of people like to see their own name in lights, so they call their business "Beth's," for example. But a better name might be "Beth's Hair Salon," so people know what you do. If you pick some clever name that doesn't describe what you do, be prepared to spend a lot of extra time, effort, and money building name recognition.

Next is where we can help. Association members have access to education, tools and resources to not only start, but to help you maintain your business. Nobody knows everything they need to know about running their business, but if we all put our heads together, someone will have a solution for any problem that might come up. When all else fails, use the association's "Just Ask" program.

Next, try "incentivizing" your new business, that is, give others an "incentive" to purchase whatever product or service you have, or give your sales team an incentive to produce. Check out the "Sales Incentives Center", from the "Partners" tab on the left.
