Fast Facts About The Association Membership Packages

 

Question: Do some of the membership packages include insurance?

 

Answer: Yes, and only licensed insurance brokers can sell those packages. Those which have no insurance included can be marketed by insurance/non insurance licensed marketers.

 

 

Question: Can’t I just sign up online?

 

Answer: Only through a website managed by a licensed insurance broker who’s licensed in YOUR state. Brokers must also be appointed by the carrier BEFORE they can sell to you.

 

 

Question: How can someone access The Limited Medical Insurance?

 

Answer: There is only one way:

 

1. You must first join the Association For Independent Managers, Inc.™ in order to access the Limited Medical Insurance. It’s for members only. You may join AND sign up for the memberships that include that insurance program at the same time.

 

2. Potential members would include those who work in, manage, or own a small business. The Association can also help a member start their own home based business.

 

3. The Limited Medical Insurance is only one component included in three of the membership packages. The Association offers other memberships without this program as well.

 

4. The Association holds the policy for the Limited Medical Insurance which is with AMLI, American Medical and Life Insurance Company. Therefore, only members are eligible.

 

5. Brokers who are licensed in a state and appointed by the carrier (AMLI), will be offered a website where a potential member may sign up for one of the membership packages.

 

 

Question: Who may sell the membership packages that contain insurance?

 

Answer: Only licensed insurance brokers.

 

1. Only licensed insurance brokers who are licensed in the state of the member may sell membership packages that contain AMLI Limited Medical Insurance.

 

2. Licensed insurance brokers must also be first appointed with AMLI. They may not sell memberships which contain the Limited Medical Insurance until they are appointed by the carrier. In other words, you may not submit your first application along with your appointment paperwork.

 

 

Question: Who and what is the DMPO?

 

Answer: The DMPO (Discount Medical Plan Organization) is New Benefits, Inc. DMPO’s regulate medical discount and other discounted offerings and they oversee the offering of those programs by complying with various state mandates and statutes or regulations. You may wish to research “DMPO” online and learn more.

 

 

Question: Who is New Benefits, (I saw that name used in conjunction with the Association)?

 

Answer: New Benefits, Inc. is the DMPO which works with the Association by providing offerings for various discount programs, oversight and compliance of marketing, as well as assistance with application review, website review, and other compliance related issues and items.

 

Question: Has New Benefits approved the brochure and membership packages that contain New Benefits offerings?

 

Answer: Yes, no membership containing a New Benefits offering may be activated, marketed by a broker, or sold prior to New Benefits’ approval.

 

 

Question: Who manages the brokers who sell Association memberships?

 

Answer: ADMU, Adroit Mutual Benefits, Inc. manages the brokers and oversees their appointments with the carrier. ADMU is the official Program Manager for the Association.

 

 

Question: Does ADMU hold a valid insurance license?

 

Answer: Yes, and as the Association’s Insurance Representatives and Insurance Department, ADMU holds a valid insurance license in the home state of Florida as well. That license is under the name of one of the principles, Matt Snyder.
